Why, do you want one because someone else does, or will it improve your life; and HOW will it improve your life?
I am probably with your father on this one. When ever I see someone with a nose ring I think of how they are used in oxen and bulls to lead them around. That is where nose rings came from you know? Before the 20th century the only people putting things through there noses were tribal. Do you want to be lead around like a cow? Does the person who WANTS you to get the nose ring want to mark you as theirs?
Whenever I see a nose piercing that is on the side of the nose I think they need to clean their face and get that speck off their nose; oh no it is meant to make them look pretty? It detracts from the person's appearance and makes me stare at their nose. Is your nose your best feature or are you trying to detract from your worst feature (your nose) making people miss it and instead stare at this chip on your nose?
Examine why you want that nose ring, then if you can come up with a good reason I would let you do it. But, then when my city started a campaign to get people to pull up their pants and not show off their underwear I laughed. The city council wanted to propose a law preventing it, but they knew it would be defeated on grounds of the 1st amendment. Instead they started and advertising campaign and used SHAME to make those kids pull their pants up. That I supported.
If I were your father I would let you get your nose pierced, but I would laugh at your face every time you wore it. I would try to shame you into thinking that you looked like a fool; the truth. Of course I am middle aged and not "cool" I just represent the view of the majority of the population in the US. In countries like India it can be accepted as a fashion statement. Are you Hindi or Indian? Do you want to look like one?
Rachel brings out an excellent point most companies want their employees to look good and to look normal. So unless you want to work in a punk band or a bar, or maybe as a hooker then I would reconsider the nose ring.
Just whose idea is it to get this nose piercing? Ear piecings can highlight a person's face without slabing a hunk of metal and jewelry right in the middle of it. A naval ring can be a little exotic and a tongue ring is said to heighten oral sex. Piercings in the genitals can also be exotic and they can be hidden, but stapling a hung of jewelry right in the middle of your face is not, at least in my opinion, a way to look pretty.
Before you select best answer notice how almost everyone before my answer thought it was a bad idea. Then think WHY do you want this nose piercing. The saying "If your friends jump off a cliff would YOU do the same?" comes to mind. Of course lemmings do it, no wait that is a myth. No creature, except for humans, are dumb enough to follow the pack into a foolish situation like that.

The affliction is dependent upon how so much affliction you'll individually tolerate. Keep in brain that humans have a tendency to be over dramatic relating to matters like this and appear to make it out to be manner worse than it real is. If you wish a lip and or nostril piercing, pass forward and opt for it. There's actually not anything to worry or fear approximately. As lengthy as you will have them performed professionally and safely handle them they're going to end up simply exceptional and also you don't have any issues with them. Ignore any impolite/dull feedback you will get whether or not on-line OR in man or woman. Some of those feedback might comprise - "You cannot get a task in case you have them", "They're gross/trashy", "They'll make you appear unpleasant", "If your a man you should not have piercings". These are all one hundred% FALSE. Piercings are not anything greater than varieties of frame artwork and self expression. You CAN get a task in case you have piercings they usually DON'T make you appear to any extent further or much less atractive than you already are. Both men AND ladies can get ANY piercing they please. Piercings have NOTHING to do along with your sexual orientation. Also, in case your underneath 18... you'll be able to want a guardian/authorized dad or mum to head with you if you have it performed to signal varieties/comply with what is going on. If your 18 or older, you'll get them performed with out parental consent.

personally i don't really like them but that's just me. i mean, it must be horrible if you had a bad head cold. and if you're trying to find a job, most employers would be against them.

i had one. blowing my nose was much more tedious. if you get a really tiny tiny tiny one it will heal up nicely if you change your mind and your dad will notice it less than say a hoop nose ring.
