Can't answer the first two. I'm not a big fan of power ballads, and I don't listen to much indie.
3. Yes's "Roundabout". I don't know a whole lot about progressive rock (in fact, "Roundabout" probably is only half of an epic in fans' eyes), but it's got every I'd expect. Great keyboards, bass, guitar (especially the acoustic parts!), etc. Yes is the quintessential prog rock band.
4. "Anarchy in the U.K." by the Sex Pistols. It's got the lyrics. It's got the sound. It's punk, and it's one of the best.
5. I got no idea, so I'll just go with my favorite Floyd song, "Time".
6. "California Girls" by the Beach Boys. I love to try to sing along with the vocals. Too bad the Beach Boys were all about vocal harmonies.
7. "I Wanna Be Your Boyfriend" by Ramones. Funny to see a love song from a punk rock band. I'm not a fan of love songs, but that's my favorite.
8. uh...
9. "Imagine" by John Lennon. Anti-war, all for peace.
10. "Revolution Rock" by The Clash. A song about "a new kind of rock". A change in music. Punk rock.
EDIT: Changed #10.

1) When I hear power ballad the first things that come to mind are bombastic hair metal bands singing over the top love songs, because of some commercials for a power ballad compilation that was all exactly that. But if "Main Man" by T.Rex counts I'll say that one. It's basically a ballad anyways, and done with electric instruments.
2) "Objects Of My Affection" by Peter Bjorn & John, although I admittedly know very little about inde. I think I like it though.
3) Don't know nearly enough about the genre (sorry).
4) "Blitzkrieg Bop" by the Ramones. I hope you know what kind of inner turmoil you put me through here. I got into a fist fight with myself trying to pick one.
5) "Silver Machine" by Hawkwind, and what a song it is!
6) "White Riot" by the Clash. Mainly the chorus but I usually sing the whole thing.
"White Riot!
I wanna riot!
White riot!
A riot of my own!"
7) "Ever Fallen In Love? (With Someone You Shouldn't Have)" by the Buzzcocks
8) "World Up My ***" by the Circle Jerks, "Take a bite! Spit it out! Take their rules! Rip 'em up! Tear 'em down!". Although "An-Ti-So-Cial" by Skrewdriver would be a close second.
9) "Wasted Life" by Stiff Little Fings, a really really great and intense song.
10) "Anarchy In The U.K." by the Sex Pistols. I've been trying to work this one in here somehow and I finally got it! Although that means I don't get to mention "The Shape Of Thing To Come" by the fictional Max Frost & The Troopers.
