i'm doing an art project and i have most of the poster covered, but there is a huge blank spot, i need an awesome logo, design, etc. any help would be appreciated.

A good design is not, just, filling in blank space. The entire composition should work as if it were a single entity. Each element must "fit in" with the others, or all you get is a disjointed set of individual "pictures."

I couldn't even BEGIN, for instance, to recommend a "logo" or "design" until I have an idea what the poster is about, the message you are trying to pass on, and what else is included.

I NEVER lay anything to paper, not even rough sketches until I have a pretty good idea of ALL the elements I intend to use.

Imagine an automobile designer, laying out the design of a high performance sport's car, and then, having some bozo of a supervisor coming down to the studio, telling him to make room and add an "AWSOME looking pickup truck bed."

Doesn't work that way.
