oKAY, my mom is the most decent person you could ever meet. she decides to take us out around the complex and see the decorations people put up. she leaves everything in the house because we aren't even leaving the community. when we're heading back to the house my mom accidentally doesn't see the stop sign and a police officer stops her. SHE WAS GOING LESS THAN 10 MPH. Thank god he didn't give her the ticket after he made us wait till he confirmed that we lived here and crap. I wanted to shove his stick up his A S S. where are the cops during the day when the children are out. the one time my mom decides to go out, a jerk like that stops her. oh and once the cop let her go, a guy drove past another stop sign without stopping. Did he get stopped? NO

And you think the traffic laws shouldnt apply to your mom? Look, if she's not paying attention while she's driving and misses a stop sign, she could have run over someone or hit another car. She should consider herself lucky she didnt get a ticket.

EDIT - So, a 10 mph impact could still kill a pedestrian, and if you got hit by a car that had the right of way, you could have been killed or injured as well. Stop making excuses, she should have stopped and didnt, She is in the wrong, the officer would have been completely justified in giving her a ticket.

Hey kid, the man is just doing his job. Maybe next time she could pay attention and stop at the stop sign. If she was going down the road and didn't SEE a little kid standing there, would that be a good excuse for hitting and killing him? By the way, if I had pulled her over in my beat, she would have been getting a ticket, I promise you that. I don't cut any breaks. She is lucky.

If your mom is going to drive, then she needs to learn how to stop at stop signs. Be HAPPY that she didn't hit anyone and ALSO wasn't ticketed.

Less than 10 mph is not stopped. The sign doesn't say slow down to 10 mph or less.

Your Mom went through a stop sign, it's illegal. She's lucky she didn't get a ticket or hit anyone. Regardless of what anyone else does, people have to be held responsible for their own actions. That's the point.

They should really give your mom a sign that says "Above the Law because her Daughter says so" to put on top of the car. That would save her a lot of trouble when the jerks see her breaking the law. (And any stupid babies or kids who get run over by your mom in intersections wouldn't have any reason to complain then either). Win/win!

Cops these days...A police car pulled up and almost arrested us for fishing in the neighborhood pond. Which we lived in!! The neighbors called 9-1-1!

it might be bullshit but the fact of the matter is that your mom ran a stop sign..no matter how slow she was going and it doesn't matter that it was an accident..it is still illegal..the police officer is just doing his job!

advise? let it go he was just doing his job and it is possible that he didn't see the other guy and even if she didn't see the stop sign he didn't know that. and how would he know how often your mom goes out?

You're mom broke the law. He pulled her over, and let her go. Sounds like you need to grow up and learn that people have to be responsible for their actions.

AMEN!! but they have quotas to make. if we were allowed to protect ourselves without worrying about lawsuits from the criminals and racebaiting jackasses like Sharpton ( who Hillary counts as a close personal friend) we wouldn't have to be victims waitng for the cops while the criminals got away.
what we need are stronger community watch programs that can fight the no snitching CRAP.
