on super mario galaxy on the mole boss when he turns red and is really fast how do you hit him and ..?

i am having trouble hitting him in his red stage beacause of his speed how can i hit him easily and how many times must i hit him

After he gets angry and turns red, start running. He will chase after you as a shell, then will pop out of the ground. Immediately do a ground pound and stay still. He will disappear, then come running after you again, even faster this time. Wait until he gets really close and do another ground pound. Then you have to chase after him and do a spin attack (the closer he gets before you do the second ground pound, the easier it is to chase him and do the spin attack)...after that he gives you the star. This boss is really easy once you do it the first time; it took me 12 seconds to beat the entire boss the second time I played him.
