I have an angel that belonged to my folks. I think they bought it back in the early 50's for the first Christmas they spent together as a couple.

I put up three trees. One is my daughter's it is a small Disney tree and the top is Cinderella. The next is also a small tree and has a football Topper. It is a sports tree. Those two are artificial. Then we get a real tree (big). this tree is my favourite nothing matches but it has lots of memories. The Topper on this one is a toilet paper angel made by my son Anthony when he was in second grade. At least I think it suppose to be an Angel. :0)

It depends on what theme we choose for the tree each year. Some of the themes we have collected for are all wooden toys, Victorian lace and ribbons, Poinsettia and other winter flowers, all crystal ornaments. One is all minatures of dogs and cats. (A friend made me a set of mini fire hydrants ornaments for Christmas one year). Fairy's, dragons, wizards, all angels, all crocheted ornaments (snow flakes, fans, angels).
My favorite is the Nativity, the tree we have is artificial and when we do the one with the Nativity we flatten one set of branches and place the manger, Mary, Joseph, and the place for the Baby Jesus to lay. All over the tree is animals and wise men and shepard's, Baby Jesus is placed on the tree Christmas eve. Most years we have the multi colored bulbs that blink independently, but the Nativity has small whites to represent stars, and a large blown crystal star on the top. This year most of the ornaments are going to be brass with the white mini's and the star on top will be brass filigree. One we have been working on but because of the expense is not quite done is going to all be Valley of the Kings Egyptian blown glass perfume bottles and ornaments that we'll hang with narrow ribbons. That will be next year's. I will probably use the blown crystal star on that one. The grandkids wait impatiently to see what the tree will be decorated with. No one is allowed to see the tree until it's finished, then we all have hot chocolate and the youngest gets to flip the switch to turn on the lights.

Had a beautiful angel for many years. After the poor thing finally felt completely apart I bought a star.

Normally it is a star. Nothing this year, no tree or anything. My 8 X 30 is to small for a tree or decorations.

For years it was an angel...and then my grand made me a star (or so it's reportedly a star *w*) and it now graces my tree yearly.
