You do not 'need' a 3 pin plug ... that third 'pin' is just to 'ground' the plug to prevent 'shocks' from happening. Just put the 'two pins' in where they belong, and use a 'surge protector' with a 3 pin plug into the wall and you'll be 'safe from shocks' as well as 'power surges' and power outages hurting your computer.

How did you pick the power supply? In general, buy a supply that matches or exceeds the Amps of the old one in every voltage, and that has the connectors you need.

That said, there are some older boards with supplemental 3 pin connectors on them that are just unnecessary. The PC works fine without it. I cannot be sure if your PC is one of those or not. Usually replacement power supplies for these have a note in the installation instructions that the connector is unnecessary.

if you are talking about the 110 volt (two blades and a ground pin) you can go to wal-mart or anyhardware store and get an adapter for under a buck, you plug a three prong into it and it just gas the two blades comming out, it's about an inch long and usually gray

Some have it to have temperature control on the fan of the power supply. It really isn't common.
