When I am overwhelmed, I shut down and get numb. I just can't feel or think about another thing for a while......

How do you feel when you feel like you can't feel anything anymore?
If you feel that you are either numb or six feet under if you know what I mean.

That's funny, I've been feeling that way for quite a while now. I am taking antidepressants but they're not helping. I just feel......flat....like I don't care about anything. I need to get out of this rut.

Hi StarBaby, It's hard to explain but it's feels very strange and like i am there in body but not in mind. Like the Twilight Zone. That kind of feeling.

I haven't had that kind of numbness for years thankfully!! I hope to never have that feeling again, I would rather feel pain then the numbness!!

Depressed and out of touch with reality. Given that these symptoms are strong indicators of depression, I would seek help from support networks in my life (family,friends) or a mental health professional. Everyone is worthy of seeking help and there are people out there who would love to help.
