I mean i see a big difference!

But what difference do you see between the two type of Christian thoughts or answers.

I t's nice to know i'm not the only one that feels this way.....I think i will be spending more time in the Philosophy section.....heck i'm naturally philosophically minded anyways.....it will be a nice change.....but i will still be a big part on R/S also!

Dave i agree that i would take the on fire Evangelist over the Philospher,...but to explain things a little deeper i shall.

What i would like to share is there are many Christians that wild bang there head bloody but there deep motivations are driven from the Ego and Rejection that causes them to be anger in a ungodly way.....in this it causes CHristians to stumble because of the Ego tistacle Christian that is trying to save the World without being led by the Spirit of Christ.....To me the Philospher as a Whole is a thinker that does very little....but what i'm saying is the Christian should engrain the Philosophy and Love of Christ that knows how to take rejection without being pushy but still willing to suffer and is driven by truth even in the time of hardship.......I speak of Balance that a Christian must have to be fruitful in the SPirit and truth of Christ.

Christians (and other religionists too) in the R&S topic tend to specialize on the relationships of God and each human and all mankind, with little regard for philosophy or science.

Those in the Philosophy topic (any real philosophers here) are trying to harmonize or unify Science and Religion, or Matter and Spirit, or Fact and Value -- all in the growing wisdom of good philosophy.

Like it or not, true religion (personal God-consciousness) remains the most powerfully transforming and motivating force on this planet, not philosophy, not science. This Spirit changing benign force will ever continue to augment here.

How about the Christians and other religionists in the Science topics? How are they different?

I would rather try to teach an on-fire, dogmatic Christian Evangelist-Activist than try to teach an indifferent arm-chair philosopher, or a fact-classifying scientist with little value recognition. This still backward world needs more human active changers than passive ones who may know much, but do little.

Philosophers also should be of good cheer; in the future few thousand more years, our secular politicians will be replaced with true philosophers to help govern this world; and God and philosophy and science will be valued ever higher and will be more Supremely unified in human comprehensions.

Presently, I choose to spend about 70% of my time in R&S, 20% in Philosophy and 10% in others. Not enough in Science topics yet. (my background)

heh. R&S is like a constant war zone, and philosophy is like an uplifting wind.

it's weird.

but i'm not particulary fond of R&S and the people in it. if i ask soemthing that can be even slightly attacked, i get so many answers with sarcasm and offense. But when i ask a question about tolerance, i get answers from so few people compared to the answers i get from the questions that can be attacked.
i get really surprised when i see an answer with no thumbs up or down

EDIT
try asking this question in R&S, but i'd just take out the word "christians." anything possible chance will be taken up to attack a certain group of people if given the oppurtunity

I rarely have gone into the R/S section....once only if I remember right...however, I see a slight difference. In the philosophy section I generally see people who are questioning....not people so sure of themselves that they tend to debate the finer points of dogma.....
I also see a bit of indecision, a little hesitancy....and a whole lot more tolerance for differing viewpoints.

I see a lot of different people saying they're Christians...saying and doing is quite different!!! I stay away from churches for that reason. They treat people like @@#%@ and then get all dressed to impress..who I have not figured out yet..and the minute they walk out the door...they are back to their basically ugly (inside)selves. I on the otherhand...am a Christian..and have a very personal relationship w/my Savuior! I wear my faviorate jeans..I just keep myself and my life real. I am not here to impress, just here to do my best...

Aidan and Tennisguy, I know exactly what y'all mean! I'd never ask anything in the R/S section either. It really IS like a warzone!!! Just zealots out to attack. People in the philosophy section are really actually trying to UNDERSTAND what is going on, not to just argue their point to hell and back (no pun!).

It's getting harder and harder for me to go to the R/S section for the reason I keep getting my questions deleted and my answers flagged for reasons I don't understand.

i would say that overall, here is more about spirituality, not one set religion, nor is it about telling someone there is only one way, but sharing the individual way you have found

In terms of real faith, hopefully nothing. In terms of thought, plenty. We are allowed to be different. It makes us more interesting.
