You should be able to.

Reading the manual should tell you which key combination to press to adjust the brightness but if you look at the keyboard you'll find that a couple of keys will have a sun icon and an up or down arrow, pressing Fn in combination with one of those keys should change the brightness.

The power management options should also give you the ability to have it automatically change brightness depending on whether you're on AC or battery power.

You can either press and hold down the fn (function) key and adjust the brightness using the appropriate f key along the top row of your keyboard that dims or brightens your screen. Or you can open your control panel and under , click on and the brightness control window will pop up and you can adjust the brightness from there.
