I can generally download a movie in an hr and 10 minutes now...songs in 10 seconds. Will i see an improvement in downloading? Will there be something even faster offered for less money soon? (incidentally, their slowest speed offered now is 7.8 megabits).

In theory yes, in reality however, it varies.

The speed of your downloads, depends on many factors, the most limiting factors however, are:

1. The Upload speed from where your downloading it from
2. The Download speed of your connection
3. The available bandwidth of your ISP

Web pages won't load much faster, and unless your extremely impatient, waiting 20 minutes more for a movie to download isn't a big deal.

My ISP recently upgraded my connection from 8Mbit to 12Mbit. I never noticed any differance until a month after the change, and only on 1 download.

Go With the 15 megabit connection its more cheaper. yes u will see an improvement. u can download movies in less then and hour now or even less. i don't think there will be anything faster for less price because it jumps to T1 internet after cable and that is expensive (more than a thousand a month usually companies use T1)

Stay with what you have. To save a few seconds is not worth the extra $15. I actually am only on 1500 KB's a second and get along fine. But I decided I was paying too much (69.95 a month AU), so I asked to be downgraded to a slower speed. They lowered the price and left me on the same speed gratis.

you are still only going to receive as fast as the distant end server sends. Keep your 10.

personally i would have to say i don't think that it is worth it, unless you can get a really good deal from the cable company,,,,,that doesn't sound like an outstanding deal.
