Do you mean as an element, or in a compound? In a compound, it depends on which, but each Al will give you three electrons and four valence orbitals. As an element, aluminum is a metal, and Lewis structures cannot describe the bonding in these; you need band theory, which is a lot more complicated.

If you're using MasteringChemistry and it is asking for the lewis structure of Al and O atoms, just show the valence electrons. For Aluminum, it wold be three lone pairs and oxygen six electrons.

depends. if its just pure compund Al, have three dots arround the Al. If ur talking about Al ion, than u have 5 dots arround Al since Al ion is always 3+ in charge
