Its a bit like contemplating if you knew WHY you were doing something (or NOT doing it) would that actually change what you WERE doing (or were supposed to be doing but currently were not).

There is only really any "point" to "knowing" the WHY of things if its going to influence your behaviour in some way.

If man kind KNEW what life meant, would that change how we all lived now?

For me personally I guess it would all very much depend on what the "meaning" turned out to be! How disappointed we'd all be if it all conclusively turned out to mean absolutely NOTHING!! Would everyone suddenly become looters, having a riot... seeing there were no consequences...if life means nothing, noting matters really does it???

If what you were doing now, and how you live your live REALLY meant something and had a huge significance, then yes I think it would change you... DRAMATICALLY!

Whether or not that would equate to being "better off" remains to be see...And please can I come for a ride on your magic bus?! LOL :-)

Wow! Morning Star. That was certainly succinct. :)

I do not think I would be any better off. In fact, my growth toward that end might be hampered by my knowing. I mean, if I tried too hard to make it happen rather than letting it happen perhaps I would muck up the works somehow. Then my life wouldn't mean the same.

I know the meaning of life and it is a comfort in one way, but it doesn't make life any easier. You still have to overcome your imperfections and put up with others. Plus it doesn't stop you getting crapped on from a great height, but when you do you know that it is just one of life's problems you need to overcome, so that you can grow and develop into the best sort of person you can be.

I am a god, so I feel qualified to answer your question.

In truth, I think that the 'meaning of life' is a personal journey and is certainly not a collective meaning. I think that the meaning of life is simply to live in which ever way you deem to be advantageous.

Yes you would be much better off.

The meaning of life is love. What is love?
Love is joy, peace, patience, gentleness, kindness, faithfulness, and self control.

If I were to shorten the defination I'd say love=helpfulness and hopefulness.

Offer these things and you'll know for yourself sooner or later.

I dare you : )

If you knew the meaning of life, you wouldn't worry about being better off...so I guess you would be better off.

If life has a meaning, it means there are things i am meant to be doing and it's too big a responsibility, so i would rather life were meaningless. Unfortunately, it seems it does have meaning. I really wish it didn't.

Just because you know the meaning of life, that doesn't mean you're off the hook for living it. Knowing and doing are two different things.

no!,if i knew the meaning of life, i would be bored,a miss know it all, and my meaning of life,if i had a clue,or ever found out, would be different to the next person,as we are all individuals, with our own ideas and perceptions on life, and the meaning off!

yes, if you had a sense of the meaning of your life, then you would be better off
for instance, i feel the meaning of my life is to live it, to learn , grow, experience this life i am in now
your meaning might be different
just as the meaning of something so simple as what type of car we choose to buy or whether to buy one at all, is different for each of us, wouldnt the meaning of something so complicated as life be different?
though the meaning we find may be very similar to other humans,
