There's a bloke lives near me, moved down from Aberdeen, it took me a full month before I could understand him. I was marvelling in the fact that he actually said " Oche aye ", and I knew what he meant. He, however, could understand everything I said.

On reflection, I think most countries are bi-lingual, all but us English. The empire is long gone, but the attitudes are refusing to leave.

Not being able to talk a second language myself, I have taken an interest in Spanish as a line of my family come from that way.

Absolutely, in Scotland there are three main languages English , Gaelic and Glaswegian Taxi Driver.

Depends - some are/some aren't - yes Stevie in some schools they still teach Gaelic -some (only a very few) only in Gaelic but not all
