Mac: Mail.app blue line?

Is there a way to make is so that when I reply to an email is the Mail.app program so that the blue line does not come down the left hand side. It is quite annoying.

Open Mail Preferences. Under "Composing" in preferences, down under "Responding:" uncheck the "Increase quote level" box.
