Now lets see. When the children of people without money or good jobs do something wrong, the parents are to blame. When there was a spate of single women going off leaving their kids without adequate care, they were to blame.
Of course they were to blame for the fact that they left their kid alone.
And the abductor is to blame for abducting her. They cant be vindicated by his actions being worse than theirs.

God forbid i ever leave my child! What could ever be so important as to leave your kids alone? I have friends that have done it so they could join us childless girls for a night out on the town. I never knew they left them alone until we dropped a girlfriend off home one night and as we pull up the police and ambulances were every where. We couldn't pin point what apartment they were at. As we were walking up we saw her oldest child 3 at the time, she got hungry and tried to cook something for herself and her 2 year old twin siblings. Burned the kitchen up in the process.
As the police cuffed her to take her downtown I said "why did you do this? I would have gladly stayed home and watched them?" She was in tears and I only felt sorry for the kids. She had gotten a ride with someone else to the club and caught up with us there. The PARENTS ARE DEFINITELY THE BLAME! (she lost her kids because of this as well)

I would never leave my kids on their own. and I would never leave 3 pre school age children in a house alone even for 2 minutes. If you do this you are asking for trouble.
What if a fire started? There are so many things that could go wrong, and I would never be able to forgive my self.

If Madeleine was abducted.. well.. both parties are wrong.. the pervert(s) for taking an innocent defenceless child to do God knows what with... (doesn't bear thinking about!!)
The parents were also wrong in leaving her.. she was 3 1/2.. and her siblings even younger... one of them could of choked, woke up scared, thirsty, hungry, sick.. etc etc
Guilt all around I think...

In my opinion, her parents are primarily to blame as they were the ones who left 3 young children on their own.
simple.
EDIT-why thumbs down? Its my personal opinion. The parents shouldnt have been so irresponsible.

i think that they drugged the kids so they slept through so they could go out and not worry about them and that they accidentally over dosed maddie then panicked and put her in the boot and drove off and threw her out to sea!
sad but thats what i think, sorry.
