We are a mexican-american family. My sister and her husband make good money and bought a nice house in an upper class neighborhood dominated by mostly white americans.
Yesterday, on Thanksgiving, my cousin (who is dark), My brother (who is white mexican with bachelors in Journalism and works in the news) and I (white mexican, accountant), drove together to our sisters house for thankgiving.
We parked our car infront of our sisters house and got off to walk to the house. On the other side of the street were two tall white american males that kept looking at us dirty.
I started to feel like they did not want us in their neighborhood. They started to motion towards us and say things. But we just looked back at them and walk into our sisters house to have Thanksgiving.
Why are american whites raciste towards hardworking mexican americans?? We have three generations in California

This isn't propoganda. It did happen.
Just to let you know my other brother served 4 years in the USA airforce and my female cousin served in the USA army and was sent to Desert Storm

Another question I have is why couldn't they just be neighborly and say hi or good evening??
Don't you think that makes us feel bad??

They were motion towards us like they wanted to fight us. But we kept our cool because we wanted to enjoy our thanksgiving with our sister. Our sister looks white but her husband is dark and some of the kids are dark. They know we are mexican-american. But they don't know we have three generations in california. Came legally during the bracero program

People that are racist do not limit their racism to Thanksgiving day. And if I saw a carload of mexicans unload in my neighborhood I would wonder what they were doing there too. When my husband and I lived in a our old house it was a mostly white and some Asian upper class neighborhood. No offense but the only hispanic people there were taking care of lawns. We recently built a house out in the country and I love it. It is much better than living in a subdivision with neighbors everywhere no matter what race they are. But if my family were in a typical mexican neighborhood you cannot say that people living there would not wonder why we are there. Some things just look out of place.

I wish Linah would just shut the fu(k up.
Okay, what happened was nasty, yes, but DO NOT generalize all white into two peoples poorish behavior.
Okay.
Our neighborhood has 3 black families and 2 hispanic/american families. You don't hear anything from any of them. They are as well raised as the rest of us living here and this neighborhood is quiet and upstanding. We live out in the county on a quiet country street. Now, when these hispanics moved next door (bear in mind there is half an acre between our yards) the first thing that young guy did was eye my husband up and down, spit toward him and give him the most go to hell look you've ever seen, and you call US racist.
I mean, it works both ways shug! I've tried to be friendly with these people, when their dog escapes the yard i politely take him back and i get the door slammed in my face and evil looks my whole way home, they even set they pit bull onto my 3y/o and YOU CALL US FKIN RACIST!
Okay, now i'm one hot pissed off Texan!
I'm so happy that you have an upstanding family, i really am, and it's a proud family you come from, military and high profesions, that is something to be proud off and those who shun you like your sister neighbors are to be ignored.
I've had black people be so rude and obnoxious to me, with my kids in tow!!! and i just look the other way. I've had hispanics, like them next door, be obnoxious and rude to me and my family, and i just turn my cheek, why, because it is the bigger thing to do!
I had a black man ram my shopping cart with my 2y/o in it, when i was 8 month pregnant, into my stomach, all because he didn't want to go around me - yeah, great frikkin behaviour there pal! And it's people like that that give races a bad name!
DON'T GENERALIZE!

It's funny, you Mexican Americans keep thinking that if you try your hardest to adopt to White American values, that some how they will finally like you... aint gonna happen my friend, they will still say derogatory things about you and your families rather you are a drug runner or a lawyer or a doctor.
Hey cowgirl mommy, when you have the Klan burn a cross in your yard or have a black or mexican threaten to lynch your husband you can start ranting, until then STFU! You have noidea what racism is and pray you never will.

Let's see. A couple of white guys looked at you? Yeah, I guess that's racist. Did it occur to you you may be reading a little bit too much into this? You're not that important. Nobody's staring at you.
You didn't have to run across a river and climb a fence to get to your sisters' did you? Were the men looking at you wearing green uniforms and driving suv's with "I.N.S." on the side?

Two people acted like idiots and you blame all white Americans? Doesnt that make you look a little racist yourself?

What those guys did was completely wrong, not just to you, but to any other people. On the other hand, I'm very sorry to tell you that it's your own people's fault, take a close look at what the "people" (if they can be called people) from "La Raza" say:
• Antonio Villiaragosa “For those of the race, everything, for those outside the race, nothing.” President UCLA Chapter of MEChA student arm of La Raza Jose Angel Gutierrez, President of La Raza: “Our devil has pale skin and blue eyes…”
• Jose Angel Gutierrez, President of La Raza “We have an aging white America. They are dying. We have got to eliminate the gringo, and what I mean by that is if the worst comes to the worst, we have got to kill him.”
• Jose Angel Gutierrez, President of La Raza “We remain a hunted people. Now you think you have a destiny to fulfill in the land that historically has been ours for forty thousand years. And we’re a new Mestizo nation.”
Mario Obeldo, former head of MALDEF illegal alien invasion ''California is going to be a Hispanic state," said Mario Obeldo, former head of MALDEF. "Anyone who does not like it should leave."
• Miguel Perez of Cal State-Northridge's MEChA chapter: "The ultimate ideology is the liberation of Aztlan. Communism would be closest [to it]. Once Aztlan is established, ethnic cleansing would commence: Non-Chicanos would have to be expelled -- opposition groups would be quashed because you have to keep power."
WE ALL know what the people from the La Raza want and are planning, have you ever thought about taking a stand against La Raza to defend the land that have adopted you???????? I've never heard any of you saying a word to defend us. How do you expect us to accept all of you without complaints??????????
I've been in Mexico many times and I adore your country and your people, but I cant turn my back to my country and my people. The problem we have with your people is, somehow, the same problem we're having with Muslims, you have to make up your mind and decide in which side you want to be, either with us or against us. My grandfather used to tell us when we were very young that: "there is no way we can roast two chickens at the same time, one will eventually burn." You cannot be against us, telling us that you're against us, hating us but demanding to live among us,...or, even worse, taking all the opportunities you can have to stab us in the back.
No offense, but the truth is the truth, it hurts, but it's the truth.........Have a great day and accept my apologies what any offense you got from some of my fellow Americans!

Sounds like another minority group enjoying being the victim of racism (that could be very well made up or over exaggerated) im just glad that the US has to put up with people like this and not just us Brits!

Then you, too, are White to start with. There are Whites who are dark, y'know. So, now you are accusing people of being racists merely by the way they look at you? Amazing!

Unfortunately, you met two white racists. They come in all races and religions, too. You and your family have worked hard for your success in this country. This is YOUR country... don't let two men with the IQ of a cockroach between them spoil everything you and your family have worked for and stand for. And who says it " their" neighborhood?? Sounds to me like it's your sister's too, and she can have friends and family over any time she pleases.
