Yes, I have gone through spells of not reading anything, though I often refer to myself as a 'cereal box reader,' because that is how much the printed word usually catches my eye.

There is nothing wrong with taking a break from reading and going out and doing something else. Visit, sight-see, whatever may interest you... even if it's hibernation!

Then maybe you could just pick up a magazine on a subject you like, and start up slowly. You don't even have to read all of the magazine, just what strikes you as interesting.

Mainly-- don't worry about it. I had some trouble with HP7, too.
And I think even 'nerds' take a break from it all now and then, or they would be nutty nerds. ;-}

Yep, I'm sure there's such thing as reader's block, because I've got it right now! It seems that nothing I pick up can hold my interest, and it's been a few months since I've actually read an entire book (outside of required reading for school... but that stuff I had to force myself to get through). Fortunately, I think I'm getting out of my reader's block - I've started Catch-22 and I hope to finish it soon.

The only advice I can give you is to try reading something you wouldn't even pick up otherwise. Just go to the library or bookstore and browse the shelves. Look around in genres that you don't normally read. Try sci-fi, historical fiction, nonfiction, whatever. Something's bound to spark your interest. =)

Happens to me a lot. I try to read but I just can't contrete and put the book down cause I just don't feel interested or bothared. I've read a lot more in the past. And I also struggled to read all of Deathly Hollows because before I haven't read a book before that in such a long time.

Yes, I get that way, too. I can always read a magazine article, however, so I think it's a combination of lack of concentration, being tired and just not wanting to think. When I feel that way I do something physical and keep my reading very light in topic.

Are you depressed? I am, and I seem to have lost my will to read, which is even more depressing. I plan on picking up some young adult novels to work myself back into it - or maybe a few old favorite. Or maybe I will just sit in front of the tv until I wither away.

I get it sometimes...... I stare at the page and all I see is "bla bla bla" I can read the same sentences over and over and it's just not registering.
Other times I can read anything with interest, even vitamin labels..
I'd say be patient, it will come back. Try reading something that really grabs your interest.

It's called "loss of concentration". :-)
