Special teams are just as important as the defense or offense. Dallas had Danny White who was a back up quarterback and also the team's punter. Just food for though, Tony Dungy was a quarterback and a defensive back. Only player to throw and catch an interception in a game

yes. Punters can be key in close games, they help determine the position of the opposing team's first play.

no you dont need to carry a punter, the falcons tried it a couple of years ago keeping one guy for punting and kicking, didnt turn out that great....

Not required, but you won't see many teams without one. You can keep as many players as you want at each position, they don't require a certain number per position.

sorry not 100% sure if they require you to have one, but if they do Im sure you could just list your backup qb as your punter or something to get around it

yea the team has to have the minumum number of players at each position on the roster
