I'm looking for something simple I can do fairly often to get rid of food smells from my microwave. I don't want to replace the smell with another, so I'd like to avoid harsh cleaners. Just something easy so that my tea doesn't taste like chicken nuggets anymore.

Baking soda will neutralise any odours; a few slices or half of a lemon in a small bowl of water 'nuked' for 30 seconds will freshen it

Boil a cup of water with a teaspoon of water in the microwave for two or three minutes, then wipe it out with a dry towel.

half a lemon, take out all the insides of 1 half and put some baking powder in it. the baking powder absorbs the smells and the lemon makes it smell like lemon!

Well I like to clean and disinfect as well as freshen. I use Clorox Clean up spray and a disinfecting spray that has a floral scent. This should help your clean but fresh situation.
