How do I set up a connection for my xbox360 to my computer?

How do I set up a connection for my xbox360 when ever I am on one I lose the connection to the other. I Have a router connected to both? I don't care if it's a long explanation just as long as I find out what I need to do to fix it!

Are you sure you have them connected to a router and not a switch or a hub? A router should share the internet connection between the two seemlessly. The switch or hub would only allow one at a time to connect.

Also if you are sure you are using a router make sure the computer and xbox are setup using different IP addresses. If they are using the same IP address it will only allow you to connect one at a time.

The best thing to do is log into your routers settings and enable DHCP, and then do the same to the computer and the xbox. This way the router will give out IP addresses automatically to any device you connect to it.
