Depends. Heinz Ketchup is better, to me, then any other, even generics. The could certainly be said for Ice Cream. Ben and Jerry's kills the store brands.
Now, generic cereals are often every bit as good as the name brand.
Now, am I right? Only my opinion. I am right for me, you will have to try them yourself.

I find it's a hit and miss.
You have to actually compare them yourself, as I have found that some generics are better than brands.
But a caveat emptor as far as cheaper being the better bargain, as that is not always the case and the brands are far more superior...the ol' you get what you pay for bit.

it depends. for clothes, most of the time generic is exactly the same, but sometimes for foods the brand names tend to be better rather than buying the generic kinds

No...I can't remember the last time I had to actually stop and said to myself....there goes John....he is wearing the coolest pair of sneakers....they are much better than mine and he gets his at Wal Mart and I get mine from the Shoe Source....nope...can't remember the last time.

it depends on what you are trying to get. if you want a rolex but buy a folex, you're probably not getting the best for your money. however Tylenol and aceteminophin are the same thing with a different, fancier package!
