All well equipped and a perfectly orderly evacuation......all adds to the spirit of adventure, and they were all picked up uninjured in next to no time.
As far as the temperature goes it was typical Springtime in the Southern hemisphere and certainly no colder than some areas of the UK just now.
Two questions though...........[1] Is it true that there were less than 100 on board and that 150 was the maximum capacity?
[2] What on earth was it that pierced a double-skinned ice-breaker hull?
Dramatic yes, but these sort of incidents are a common occurrence in some parts of the world and are rarely mentioned in the media unless Brits are involved.

It is now summer in these waters and the temp of -5 is quite good. The ship has sailed for 40 yrs in this area and was well trained to deal with this incident. They were rescued by a very respectable Norwegian ship. All are safe and spending the night in a Chille Military base before flying on to Punta Arenis.Could go on forever on the area which have visited myself on Ships. Will finish with one statistic Iceburgs are not white and have melting steadily for 10,000 yrs putting Global warming theories to a test.

Actually anyone who places themselves in such danger surely must recognize the consequences of having to take to the life boats or swim for about 6 minutes after that you drown because your muscles seize and your breathing stops but good news is your brain keeps going for another 4 minutes while you slowly sink to the bottom of the ocean.

Think how cold it would be if not for Global Warming. They never would have lived through it.

Glad they are o.k., but c'mon, booking a cruise to Antarctica? Stupidity should have a price tag attached. Bermuda wasn't good enough?
