Snow body knows!!

I would think the roads dept would be continually keeping an eye on the weather or be updated automatically of any impending snow and the driver would take home the snow plough.

When I left the suburbs and moved to the country, all of the people that were not employed by the county and had snow ploughs on the front of their trucks made some good money. People would just call them from their houses and pay them to dig out their driveways.

As far as being in the city - this hurts my head. I've never seen an yellow industrial size snow plow parked in front of my neighbors house! Cute question ( :

the snow plough stays with him at his house, then in the morning when he gets up to go to work he just drives off in that

Ask one of them - and I am sure they will all say the same thing.

They have to drive in.

All the trucks - and equipment is state owned - and has to be kept inside. Regular maintenance schedules.

My father was a DOT plow driver during the winter here in Michigan.

He has a 1987 Chevy 1500 - 4x4 - 350.
That is what he used in the winter to get back and forth.

Often, the ploughs are hooked to their normal cars, if they havae trucks. But that is a good question! It made me laugh!

My wife drove her 4x4 to work. The employees with the department of transportation in my state would work a 24 hour day, half the employees would work 7AM-7PM and the other half would work 7PM-7AM. Contractors would be used to help fill in the gaps. They did not take the trucks home.
