you need programs like gimp photoshop and paint.net
photoshop is like 900 Us $$ though\

or you can use the design tools that are in SL
available in appearance

You can buy things off of SLX that are compatible with those programs like hair textures and other stuff for gimp

gimp and paint.net are free btw

furniture I think you just use prims and construct them then apply textures and link all parts and save. and your ready

Each thing you've mentioned takes a different set of skills and experience. If you're looking to create products and start a shop, I recommend searching for 'education' events and go to some of the quick learning classes.

The easiest out of what you mentioned is making furniture by building using prims and saving what you make.

Clothes takes use of a graphic design program such as photoshop. It's tough, but once you learn, it obviously becomes easier.

Making hair (and shoes) is difficult. You basically organize a bunch of small prims to create a head of hair.

Start with the furniture. goto a 'sandbox' and watch other people building and talk with them too.
