Way before the MTV generation? Looking on you tube at some of their videos is amazing like the following. I know someone may say no Elvis was. But some of the Beatles videos are originals and not taken from a movie.

Well, Rain and Penny Lane were just some of the few firsts that got people interested in"watching" music and made the Russians say " we listen to our music we don't watch!"
Elvis' clips were taken mostly from some of his movies to promote it...it is a trailer and was not popular in itself.
Whoever was first wouldn't be important let us enjoy our music but maybe we can take a poll and let them research who is really first-maybe it is Rolling Stones ley me know :-)

i think so. I love the video for Hello, Goodbye... awesome. and the one for Hey Bulldog is great as well; They were the first ones to take a song and use it in a video. Also, look at the scenes in Help! for songs like "Another Girl" or "Ticket to Ride", they are amazing
