I'm not sure. I think the extra sperm might mess up the baby.

It is to give your body the time to heal, and to make sure no added complications are added to yourself by being safe for awhile. It sucks when you want it so much but try to wait.
Maybe nothing will happen if you have sex, but the docs like to have had the six week check up before sex commence so I would be talking to the docs about you situation as each women is different after birth and it would also depend on what she went through too, like did she tear etc.

Number one the cervix needs time to get back into position. Number two the body uses these time for cleansing. There is alot of junk your body has to disspell after childbirth and believe me that is kinda gross. Number three pushing any of that junk back in may cause an infection. Noone wants to have to be sterilized unable to have anymore children because of this. And number four it is the most fertile time to get pregnant again with all the hormones surging through the body. And it really isn't good to have two pregnancy in one year. Hope that helps a little. Just take a little time enjoy your baby, make her feel loved in a million other ways and remember there are so many ways for you to still be affectionate and let her know she is still beautiful and even more so sexy as the mother of your child. Now get off of here and pamper her a little.

I would think it is to allow for proper healing. If you just squeezed a watermelon out, I imagine that there might be some tenderness or at the very least, discomfort if you had sex straight away. I believe there are some real health concerns as well. Your wife's uterus have sustained a great deal of stress and physiological changes and is susceptible to infection.

I know you are supposed to wait 6 weeks, but when I had my son I did after a week. I think as long as you feel up to it, it's okay. I guess the reason they don't want you to is if you have to be cut during delivery, with the stitches and all they don't want any infection.

Because her body is still healing . After the baby is born, all those stretched out ligaments, her uterus and cervix is still very raw and tender.
Her body has been through a tremendous strain, 6 weeks is what is common for letting her body heal so she will not tear anything.

If her Doctor says no, then it would be in your best interests not to. Mainly because of the trama that her body goes through during childbirth. It's only fair to the woman's body to respect it that way- perspective for the man- pull your bottom lip over your head, and tack it to your shoulders. Now, do you feel like a kiss from her?

I had two kids with normal birth, and both times had sex within two weeks, it depends on the woman how fast she heals, but take the first one tenderly and slow to see if something does not hurt at all.

I think that the 6 weeks is just a suggestion not a rule. If you and your wife both want to go for it! I had a bad delivery and was told to wait by my physio and then she suggested that my husband and I have a bottle of wine (for medicinal purposes) and get on with it! Take it slowly and if your wife is breast feeding she might be a little dry (sorry tmi!)

Good luck!

she could suffer from severe bleeding. she has to give her body time to heal. Thats why they have six week checkups so the doctor can see if she is able to have sex. some women need more time.
