What will split the data line, and what goes on the other end to convert the fiber to a rj-45 jack?

To split the optical connection you should probably use a optical "tap" and not network equipment to regenerate the signal. There are a bunch of companies that do this such as NetOptics, Network Instruments, BlackBox, etc. Using glass prisms to split the optical signal into two presents less risk to the data network function.

As for fiber to copper conversion you will need to get transceivers to convert between the two on both ends. Sometimes these are very expensive but you can find a reasonable price from some like Transition, Omnitron, and others.

A fairly high priced switch/router. HP has some of the best for the least amount of money, but still in the 1,000 USD range
