we have 5 huge pecan trees in our backyard and i am looking for one of those things that roll on the ground and pick up your pecans. i think they are probably made of some sort of metal and they have a long handle for you to push it and the bottom part rolls and somehow picks up pecans. thanks for any help

You might try one of the types at the links below. I'm originally from Texas, and I've seen people there use similar gizmos with pretty good success :-)

okay just remember one thing when picking up pecans that they harbor the brown recluse spider especially here in florida and we avoid picking up the pecan shells with our hands we use an old snow shovel that my dad brought down last winter for us . My sister got bitten by the brown recluse and lost part of her hand . One bad dude spider so my advice is to just be carefull . good luck and god bless.

all i can suggest is something that QVC has, but i don't know the name of it. it is supposed to pick up garbage the same way but i think it would work well with pecans too. I've tried it with garbage and it works pretty good, now i hear they have a bigger version for bigger trash items.

I bought mine at the local feed store. I have also seen them in other places, can't remember for sure off hand. it was either dollar store or wal mart.
