my 2000 grand prix,windsheild wipers stop at the top of windsheild. whats the problem?

There's a little device sitting on top of the wiper motor called a parking pawl or a crank arm. This device usually gets bent or worn out and mistimes the parking procedure of the wipers. You can't fix it, it has to be replaced and timed to the blade position.

a broken wiper crank arm and/or a bent wiper transmission crank arm stop.
