Hey, first off this is my FIRST question! Pretty kool, huh!

OK, so I did my complete AP Bio. Lab 5 BUT I really want an A so can u check my answers? Yes, I actually showed my answers.

I got my data.

Question 1. Identify two hypothesis being tested in this lab.

ANSWER-
1. Germinating Peas will have a higher respiration rate than non germinating peas
2. Germinating Peas at higher temps. Will perspire more than peas at cooler temps.

NOTE: I’m not sure if perspire is the word I’m looking for…it’s on the tip of my tonguw but I can’t get it. ANY HELP?

Question 2. This activity uses a number of controls. What conditions must remain constant? Why?

ANSWER-
1. Temp. of water because false temp. would result in incorrect data.
2. Vol. of beads since dry peas do not have the same vol. as germinating peas
3. Number of gas molecules?
4. Gas Constant?

NOTE: I put q. marks next to the last two because I’m not sure about them…I derived these from the PV=nRT formula!

Question 3.

I DID THE GRAPH CORRECT!

Question 4. Describe and explain the relationship between the amount of O2 consumed and time.

ANSWER-
As time went on the amount of O2 in the germinating peas increased. When time went up the amount of O2 consumed went up in both germinating peas at 10 degrees C and room temp. The dry peas were also able to consume O2 except at a smaller and slower rate while germinating peas consumed a greater amount of O2 over a given period of time.

Question 5.

I DID THE CHART CORRECTLY TOO

Question 6.

NO NEED EITHERJ

Question 12...yeah I skipped a lot

q- If respiration in a small mammal were studied @ both room temp. and 10 degrees C what results would you predict? Explain.

My only question is that am I right in thinking that more O2 would be more required for respiration @ 10 degrees C in a small mammal than a mammal @ room temp?

If so I have my explanation.

CAN YOU MAKE ANY CORRECTIONS IF POSSIBLE. THANKS!

OK, an answer to any one of the questions would be nice:-)

Germinating peas at higher temperatures will respire.... perspire is sweating.

12. The mammal might be slightly higher in cold because it needs to burn more to keep warm.

1. Puppies need a little more food than adults do, and they can easily overindulde. Unfortunatly due to the different types of dog food out there and their quality it's hard to give you an exact amount. Their should be a food chart on whatever type of food they have for her. My best advice is to follow that. 2. Labs love water! They love playing in it, they love drinking it, they love swimming in it. I would not withhold any water from her at any time unless your vet tells you it's needed for an exam or surgery. Make sure they let her out about 15 minutes after she drinks to let her empty her bladder. Also relize that she won't have full bladder control untill she is at least 3 months old, so she may be having accidents due to that. 3. KONGS! Get kongs! They are awesome.. As for other toys it's hard to find something a lab can't tear apart. Nothing Vinyel. Other things like tennis balls, sticks, and my lab that passed loved water bottles, they are all cheap and easy to replace. 4. I wouldn't bath a lab more than twice a year. But a lot of that depends on where you live, if she's to be an indoor or outdoor dog, if she will be doing any hunting or be going swimming... Too many factors for me to say for sure. 5. They are SMART and get bored easily, so when training them keep it in short sessitions that you repeat several times throughout the day and puppy proof EVERYTHING. They also need lots of exercise. So hopefully they like walking, and have a good throwing arm... Or wouldn't mind picking up the habit. Good Luck

I love the image of a pea sweating. The term is usually transpire if you mean water loss.

The mammal does need more O2 in the cold than at RT.

1. Respire, not perspire
2. All wrong. Think about amount of light, type of soil, AMOUNT of water, etc.
12. right, because it takes more energy to create heat.

We need the lab exercise to answer more thoroughly.

Read your biology book. You're in AP.
