I don't think anyone is a loser, but you need to figure out what you want in life (in general) and then look at how education plays a part in getting that. If you want to be physically, emotionally, and financially secure, you will want a good solid job...which requires an education.
If you don't finish high school, there are a great many doors that just will not be open to you...and then your life will just be harder...more unpredictable, more chaotic, or downright dangerous.
Maybe you need a tutor or some counselling or something. If you need some academic support, or some ADD meds, or whatever, get the help you need...no excuses. Soon enough, you will be expected to take care of yourself.
Another big huuuuuuuge principle I have learned over the years is that...feelings don't have to dictate what you do. You don't HAVE to feel like doing the right thing to do just that. You don't HAVE to feel like studying, or attending class, or whatever. You can do things without having the time of your life. You do what you have to do, then move on to your choices. You can do a little have-to and a little want-to, here and there, every day.
One thing that I think you will find is that if you make small goals and achieve them, even if you don't enjoy what you are doing, the success itself is enough to help you get more motivated...then it isn't so horribly bad.

You need a High School Diploma and better to get a job that pays more than $6.00 an hour. You can't live with mommy and daddy forever. If you don't go back an get an education you are doomed to be on the lower scale of the population for the rest of your life. You will never amount to anything. You will not be able to support yourself, or a family. You will not be able to buy the things you will want later in life, like a new car, a house, nice clothes. etc. Go back and get your education and do the right thing for yourself. Unless of course you want a MacDonalds Hamburger job as a career choice. Think about it. You know what you have to do, don't be lazy anymore, and just "do it".

These next couple of years are going to fly by for you... you should get your high school diploma out of the way, because you don't want to be going back when you're older to get it.... My daughter is 15 and she kind of went through some tough times last year with school, but we've been talking to her and she now realizes that she needs to get it over with... she wants to hurry up and be all grown up... I told her the same thing... that these next few years will go fast & no matter what she decides to do, she'll be glad that she finished high school....
The only one sure thing in life is that things will change.. Your ideas will change, your beliefs will change. Go speak to your counselor at school and see what kind of extra things you can do to use your gift of writing. That may be what lights your fire!! You may be able to intern somewhere, like a tv station, or a newspaper, to hone your skills..... Drinking and drugs are not the way to go.. They will lead you 90 MPH into a brick wall... And it's not good to have so much empty time on your
hands, either... You should be studying, working toward your goal of being a writer and getting paid for it!!
My daughter wants to be a nurse, and I think that's a great thing for her, but she knows that she first needs a high school diploma to get into college to make that happen.... So do you!!!
I know that being a teenager is hard... I went through the same thing when I was there... but this part of your life just needs to be dealt with... get it over with... a high school diploma is valuable. Maybe you could pretend that you are your own life manager? Look at yourself from the outside, and guide yourself to do the right things... You don't want to continue to do nothing, hanging out, drinking, drugs, or whatever else you do... Hope this helps you a little bit... you can email me if you'd like... I know that being your age is very tough.

dont feel bad.I love to make fun of people on here but when i was in school,i was the same way.I made all A's the first semester just so i could slack off the next one and then still come out with a "c" average.I am what some people call a "non-conformist".I never went to college and i always felt the only thing a person will need in the their life that school can teach them is the 3 R's.If you can do all of that then dont worry about it.I graduated and never went to college but now i analyze some of the most dangerous military weapons ever made for the government.

Where I am from (Ontario, Canada) there are schools that you can go to for at-risk youth. The class sizes are smaller, more casual, and you get more one-to-one help. You should call the school and ask to meet with a guidance counsellor about what the options might be for alternative education opportunities. This might give you the best chance of success, because you'll get the individual attention you need. Nothing is easy, but there are programs designed to make things easier.

Not everyone enjoys school! Have you thought about doing some sort of course outside the usual school curriculum? There are lots of options where you could choose something that you really like. I know of a 17yr old who left school and did a year at a trade training place and is now happily employed with a roofing company! Maybe you could try something like that

There are programs to help you get that high school degree or a GED. Contact your local adult basic education program (sometimes it's the local school district and sometimes a social services agency); also check the local one-stop job center (county or state department of labor). You really do need to finish, and it sounds like you are motivated! Job Corps could also help you, and then you could get into a trades program or regular community college. Good luck to you, and check this out Monday morning for sure!
PS You are NOT a loser--you have just temporarily lost your way.

If you do not go back, your life as an adult will be hard. It will be VERY difficult to get any job--usually they will ask you to go back anyway and finish. With tutors and an attitude that you will not fail you WILL finish and get it over with. You don't want to end up on the streets as an adult--good luck and God Bless. I really hope you go back. It sounds like you have a potential career in English or writing-DON'T lose that.

but hun..."just go back to school" is the answer and you know it. was there a reason you didn't do well in school? was it the teachers? the atmosphere?
maybe look into some homeschooling or a GED course if you don't want to go back to high school. education is important..unless you want to work at mcdonalds when youre 40 and not have a girlfriend......think about it.
you should write about this experience. maybe do some motivational speaking for other kids.
good luck and God bless
