Hi hello900, If it fits in their mouth a fish will attempt to eat it whether it's your finger, a piece of fish food or another fish! This is why only similar sized fish should ideally be housed together.

In your position I would be far more worried about A) introducing illnesses to your tank from wild-caught fish & B) tank size, your tank needs to be at least 40 gallons & heavily filtered or you will have uncontrollable poor water conditions very soon.

I suggest you return the Guppies to their natural home as soon as possible-it's the kindest thing to do for everyone involved including yourself.

try other food options like reptomin, crickets, mealworms, shrimp, krill, kale., mustard greens, cuttlebones ( for calcium) and live feeder fish. Also there might be a problem with the setup. It might be too cold in the water, and the basking area may not be warm enough. Are you sure you have everything? First read all of this and see if you can create this setup, it costs at least $250, and is a regular setup. All the stuff is expensive!- but it is soooooooooooooooooo worth it, i love my turtle! You will need to get a 50 gallon starter tank and upgrade to a 75 gallon later on when your turtle is over 6 inches...If you can not get that big of a tank right now then for now you can use a huge rubbermaid container filled up with clean warm water 5/6 of the way. The water should be 75-82F, that can be achieved by buying a water heater at the petstore, along with a water filter. Water filters that are best are canister filters, like the Rena xp3 filter which costs $200, but filters very well. Do buy a filter please, even a cheap one at $25, is better then none at all, since turtles are extremely messy and poop-ful (haha). The bottom of the tank should be bare, no gravel because they could choke on that mistaking it for food. On top of the water you need 3 things, 1. a basking dock ( buy a large size zoomed basking dock). 2. you 100% need to buy a basking lamp+bulb, you buy them separatly, then screw the bulb in ( 50 watts) and shine it on the basking dock over a mesh hood( cut a hole out of it and place the light there!). 3. This is very important, you need a uvb light. It is a long thin light, you need to get the actual lamp+ the long skinny bulb. Reptosun 5.0 is the best bulb( together costs $55). Shine that onto the basking dock as well. Turtles need these together because they use the uva for heat, so they stay warm ( the basking site should be 90-95F, not colder) and they need the uvb rays to metabolize calcium and vitamin d3 for a stronger shell ( like you need it for your bones!) The diet for the turtle should be reptomin pellets ( and other nutricuos pellets!) crickets, mealworms, bloodworms, shrimp, and krill. All of this is found dead at the petstore!;) They also need vegetation, get kale, mustard greens, romaine lettuce, and collard greens. Drop all of the food in the tank once a day, and remove any leftover bits after a few hours. By the way ALL of the protien food ( dead food, that was alive once) should be dusted with a calcium supplement ( powder) and you need to get a cuttlebone found in the bird aisle of the petstore and drop it in the water for him to knaw on, keep it there for a while (month) until he eats all of it, then get another. Once all of these things are done your turtle will be pretty happy!

Fish are opportunistic. If it's there and able to be eaten, they will more than likely eat them. That being said, putting them together and not meaning to feed the goldfish would be bad as goldfish are carp and thus not piscivores (fish eaters). Although a few guppies may not be horrible for their heath, it's not on their regular menu and could cause negative health effects- especially when they guppies are wild caught and could carry diseases.

Goldfish eat anything they can get their mouths around. All fish almost everything they get their mouths around. One interesting fish, the male betta or Siamese fighting fish, will build a bubble nest at the top of the tank and put the eggs in it. They also rescue falling babies. The females will eat them up.

There are also some very aggressive small fish that will eat or kill your goldfish, including cichlids and large catfish. One time I bought the cutest little fish and by morning most of my fish were dead or in rags.

You also need to consider temperature when mixing fish. Goldfish are cold water fish. Most other aquarium fish are warm water species. Some will live in cold water, but eventually die.

Well it depends on the size of the guppys and the size of the
gold fish.

But if it is about an inch goldfish it can eat a half an inch
guppy.

Yeah, the goldfish will eat the guppies as they begin to grow. Goldfish are known to attempt to fit things in their mouths in order to eat, for they LOVE to eat. I'd avoid putting the guppies in the tank unless you are wanting to feed them to your goldfish.

Goldfish will eat anything they can fit in their mouths, including small fish... Keep in mind that Common Goldfish will reach nearly 1.5 feet and truly need a pond or an absolutely massive tank... In a small bowl, or tank less than 150 gallons, they will become MASSIVELY stunted, leading to organ, muscle, and bone deformities, leading to a painful death... Contact me if you have any questions.

If a fish is small enough to fit in another fishes mouth, chances are it will end up there.
