The Ave Maria's on my CD entitled Ave Maria are as follows Music by J.S Bach (1685-1750) with words by Charles Gounod (1818-1893) W.A.Mozart (1756-1791) probably making this the oldest since Bach's piece was adapted later Franz Schubert (1797-1828) And the words vary a little between the pieces. They do not just say the "hail Mary" prayer. And though Bach may have been Lutheran, he wrote many masses that were used in the Catholic church. Good luck!
