Antiderivative is the integral of the function.

F (x) = [ x^(n+1) / (n +1) ] + C , where n != -1

rewrite the function to be

(x) ^ (-1/2) then

x ^ (1/2) / (1/2) = 2x^(1/2) + C

1/x^(1/2) = x^(-1/2)

When taking a derivative, using the power rule, you multiply by the current power then subtract 1 from the power. When finding the anitderivative, you go the opposite way: Add 1 to the power, then divide by that power.

Antiderivative of x^(-1/2) = 2 x^(1/2)
