Please read the question carefully. I'm talking about the "notion" of heaven or hell.

Existence is experience and if that ends at death for you, how would you experience any notion at all?
Heaven and hell are religious symbols and have nothing to do with what you are and what you experience.

Heaven or hell are the imaginary destinations ONLY during the earthly jorney. The paths , to reach these imaginary destinations , are listed in the various 'maps' otherwise called religions,. But the real GPS is spiritual insight which guides you away from these 'hells' and heavens' and takes you closer to a situation called "immortality" that transgreeses both living and dying.

I concur with C.S. Lewis that neither heaven nor hell are experiences that begin only after death.

Accepting your premise for the purpose of the argument, it would therefore depend on whether the life preceding that end were hellish or heavenly.

Fawn: you couldn't be more wrong. There is such a thing as heaven and hell. No one knows what God is going to do, so i suggest you do what's right in live, enjoy it and once its your turn to leave this world, then your existence will be either in hell or heaven.

Heaven... because then I would not be jerked around by the whims of the rich and powerful. The fact that I would not be cognizant of anything does not figure into it.
