Democrats say their job is to provide equality for everyone including minorities and white women. Yet as a male I feel that they forget equality should be equal in all cases. One example is that women can vote, run for all political office, and join the army but still are not required by law to sign up for selective service. A next issue is crime. Whenever a woman especially a white woman commit a crime we make excuses that we wont for a male. An example of this is debra lafave and mary kay letourneau slept with boys 20 years younger than them yet got probation for their offense because apparently the judge bought the excuse that they were emotionally uninclined. Yet very few people complained about this as much as had it been a group of women getting less pay than men. Child custody and divorce laws are another issue.

I suppose it's the same reason Republicans are so easily controlled by the religious right.

As a male you are forgetting that women have not come to equal status in receiving equal pay for equal work. Equality in this country between the genders still has a long way to go. Women being included in selective service has been an issue in this coming election. It is something that both Sen. Clinton and Obama have expressed should change to include women. It isn't the Democrats who don't want this, it's the Republicans who don't want it, so they squash any serious contemplation of it.

I agree that women should get equally harsh sentences for committing crimes against children. But how are you equating that as being a Democratic problem? Have you ascertained that the juries and judges were all Democrats or something? Lesser sentences for these women equates to a still unequal status in the minds of juries and judges, not Democrats. This is a societal attitude, not one that is the problem of political parties.

Child custody and divorce laws are indeed another issue, and are very complicated. State laws rule these issues, not federal. It would be interesting to see a breakout of the differences in these laws between red and blue states, but again, there's not really a basis for swinging a sword at Democrats over it.

You really offer nothing to back up your assertion that the feminists control Democrats.

I'd been at my job 11 years when my wife announced divorce. She'd been at hers all of three and was making within 75 cents an hour what I had been making. She'd been seeing a shrink and still not only did the judge state that because I'm a man and (at that time) in the military, I'd make a "Lousy father." He awarded her $638 a month child support, and half of all assets. Within four months, she had abandoned our two year old son and I was then awarded full custody and a whopping $100 a month child support -- she paid all of one year's worth and then quit.
I understand the so-called plight of women in the work place. As mothers it is generally expected that if Johnny gets sick, she will be the one to stay home with or take him to the doctor's office. On the seniority system, she then looses out and her pay then reflects it. But I don't buy into the idea that you absolutely have to have all of the bells and whistles, that without, you can still do well. Dem.s are lemings and are easily swayed.

Women control what? Women over the last fifteen years have lost more control over their individual choices in life than they did previous to the early 90's.

There have been social policy propositions in re to various aspects and decisions that women have never had to be concerned with in the public realm; topics that were once considered private and personal. There are politicians who pedlle the need for social programs, beliefs and legislation that reflect these outside ideals for women--that once are legislated will become external controls.

Women traded in freedom, and autonomoy for government involvment directly through government agencies--so the question is somewhat miscontrued, with due respect.

Government agency programs do not lineate with freedoms or equal rights, they do however lineate with government control over access, decision processes as well as a framework for how to pursue the choices one may make. This is typically the political pursuit of a government that is running out of ideas for increasing the number of jobs.

The women you mention in re to inappropriate decisions with young persons are disgusting.

Democrats are easily controlled by anyone. Even children can control them as seen by their "no spanking" policy that has failed. Now the terrorists and illegals are controlling the democrats. Their heart is their weakness and these groups know it and play on it.

This country is just full of double standards. Some over race, some over sex. It's going to take a while before things are REALLY equal.

Democrats are democratic! Their policy is the will of the majority. The majority will is not always rational or consistent because individual people themselves are not always rational or consistent.

Because Democrats are the "Pity Party". Got a complaint, go to the Democrats. They build up your issue even if it's dead!
