Minerals are inorganic substances (calcium, magnesium, iron, zinc, selenium, phosphorus, potassium, etc.) and vitamins are organic substances (made from carbon and hydrogen). Both minerals and vitamins are 'essential nutrients', which means they are absolutely required for health.
Both are required for many enzymes to work properly (as co-factors and co-enzymes). Enzymes are the little molecular 'engines' that make the chemical reactions 'go' in your cells.
Minerals are also used as electrolytes and to build tissues (e.g. bone, teeth, etc.).
Hope you find this helpful. Best wishes and good luck.

We don't Look back in history, people did not have the science behind the vitamins and minerals we have now but the human race still expanded. If these so called important vitamins and minerals were needed to live then the human race would have died out years ago. The scientists are paid huge sums of money to say we need this and that but logic and history proves that all they have done is extended the average human life span. By this i mean we now live longer than we did before science came into it.

Minerals are elements that you need to stay healthy. Vitamins are organic compounds, i.e. made of molecules containing carbon, that are important for health, which are needed in small quantities.

They are different compounds.
Minerals are just that: minerals.
Vitamins are organic molecules (meaning they contain carbon) and are used by the body to support a variety of biological processes.
Both are essential nutrients that you must have in your diet to prevent death by deficiency-based diseases.
