your question is confusing.. do you mean? wireless as in.. laptop cards? or do you mean phones.. i think you mean house hold.. so i'mgoing ot answer that question.. to go wireless you need a router in your home. or a whats known as a hot spot. no one service offers a "wireless" interenet.. they basically provide you with the access to the internet.. its up to you to get a router if you want to go wireless.. note that your pc.. must be have a network card thats wireless.. ex. wireless adapter fro your pc.. or wifi on your laptop.... companies do offer you routers liek verizon fios..
you have to compare service with pricing..then get you router..
i have verizon fios..and its great.. they give you a router all be it crappy..but its still wireless. also note that wireless is not as strong as a wired connection.. plus people can get access to it but sitting outside your house and gain access to your info..

Roadrunner.. They'll even provide the router (although I bought my own because I wanted something twice as fast as the neighbor lol).
Yes wireless is a very good way to go - not only is almost 10 x faster than dial up (with 54mbs card, mine is 108mbs...) the router itself has a firewall (this does not mean that you don't need one on your computer) which makes the connection more secure . I've never had a problem with it and I've had roadrunner for 4 years now.
With wireless N you could actually get speeds up to 300mbs opposed to dial ups 56kbs.
Just to the people blaming wireless for viruses - If you're constantly getting viruses that can't be blamed on the type of connection you have that only be blamed on the email you open or the things you download.

Verizon Wireless is good, and yes wireless internet is the best, especially if you have a laptop, so you don't have to continuously plug it into the modem everytime you want to use the internet.

Best service depends on where you live and where you use it. Signal strength and type differ by carrier, so some phones will be dead where others have decent signal.
Best bet is talk to your friends who are in the same areas you go and see what kind of service they get.
And yes, wireless good.

Depends on where you live. We don't get Comcast here I am glad we don't. Family who do say it's unreliable in their area. We get very reliable service from a small local ISP but I can't tell you who they are because they aren't "huge" like Comcast and I really don't want to share our location.
