Do you believe the little party some political insiders are having at the taxpayer through in Iraq is beginning to end? Do you expect some of these companies to suddenly move their home offices to Dubai?
Please tell us what you think, and lets have hopefully an honnest and lively discussion about it in the spirit of free speech.

No, it'll never end, as long as there are special interests who pump millions into campaign coffers. Those are usually the ones who receive the benefits of the "earmarks".

And no "losersrdems"...there are not more under the Democratic Congress than under the retardicans. For the 6 years Bush had a Repub majority in Congress, earmarks exploded, but Bush just signed everything they sent to him. Now that his party is in the minority, the claims to veto for "fiscal responsibility"...what bullsiht. Remember the "bridge to nowhere"...well, Alaska GOT that money after all!

No. Not quite over. But the truth is coming out. As always is the case, what one side of the political tug of war has been saying once again is being proven true while what the other side has been saying is proven to be lies and denial. The old adage of where there is smoke there is fire is again being proven accurate. No the party is not over, but it is somewhat like turning on the light on a room full of cockroaches.

No. I think the 'pork party' and 'earmark events' will continue for as long as an apathetic American constituency allows it to go on. Most Americans care more - and know more - about Paris Hilton and Britney Spears than they do about the corrupt cretins who supposedly 'serve' our country in the hallowed halls of Congress and in the Oval Office.
Halliburton and the Carlyle Group are two of the government's newest defense contractors, raking in billions of dollars in profits. BOTH corporations have direct ties to the Bush-Cheney White House. Halliburton is even moving its corporate headquarters to the Cayman Islands to avoid paying U.S. taxes on all those profits.
As long as there are cowardly, incompetent, corrupt 'public servants' in office, there will be plenty of 'pork' to be paid. The only way we get rid of 'pork' is to get rid of all the "Republicrats" who have made it a career. -RKO- 11/23/07

I don't think it is over. I think the defense industry largely dictates the policies of this country and I don't think that will end soon. Another war will be orchestrated as soon as the current wars peter out. It's the way its been since WWII, until we have serious political process reform it will continue.
