If the central tenet of Zionism is that every Jew, is born a citizen of the eternal state of Israel, shouldn't those Jews who subscribe to this ideology be classified as foriegn nationals in their host country?

Well, you ask the question in a loaded way, but it is a legitimate question - how can someone serve two masters?

I often visit the US and it was often feared that Catholics (of which I am one), would align themselves with Rome and not their nation of birth. This proved to be totally false, but was made a big deal of at one time. Some evangelicals still believe it to be so.

In the case of Zionism, there is a real danger that allegiance to Israel can lead to trying to get the host nation to do things NOT in its best interests, or its people in general, but in Israel's best interests. If someone believes that strongly in Israel, they should support it with their money and their blood - but they should not expect their host nation do to so. I do not understand why this is not made more of an issue in the American press. BTW, I know many Jewish people in the Northeast of US who are NOT Zionists, and of many fanatical evangelicals in the south of US who are.

Sounds logical to me.... if you include the Knights of Columbus, the Sons of Ireland, the daughters of the American Revolution, and while you're at it, the colored, all the Catholics, Protestants, Bahai, Moslems, Hindus and especially the Baptists. .... since they all profess some allegience to 'foreign' entities, or are descended from people who came here from somewhere else and are proud of it. Leaves just the Indians as the true Americans..... but anthropologist tell us they came from Siberia, so I guess we have to send them back to Russia. Just leaves you and the chipmunks....chump.

No, their is a process in order to claim your citizenship in Israel. Until they go ahead and go through the process and get that citizenship then maybe but not until every person who happens to be Jewish becomes a Citizen officially should they become Foriegn Nationals.... your plan sounds like a way to strip them of rights
