I bought both of them about 4 years ago. They're both in great working condition, still looks rather new, and have never been repaired. I can't even recall how much i paid for them. I called up Kenmore, and they suggested about 600 together, and told me that model numbers don't really mean much; they were just giving me reasonable estimates to sell them for.

Any suggestions on whether this would be a fair price?

Call a second hand appliance store with your model number brand and the age of the machines as if you were purchasing them. They will tell you what they are selling them for. Despite what you were told, people do look at the features and what the machines will and won't do. Looking in our classified ads most of the machines range in the 150-250 for machines that are less than 5 years old. That being said I sold my maytags for $200 each and they were top of the line. But that was still $50 below what the second hand appliance store was selling the same machines for.

A person can still buy a new set for around $600. I see them selling anywhere from $50 to $400 a pair depending on condition and age. I would price them at $400 and take what you can get.

I would take a look in the paper and see what others are asking. I think that $600 together is rather high, unless they were the high end when you got them. I paid about that much a few years ago for the pair I have brand new.

It all depends on the model of the washer. People really look at how the outside looks more then how they work. You also have too look at the capacity and how many cycles. Its really hard to say how much to sell them for. My bro owns an appliance business and it all depends on how bad some one needs it best thing would be to look at other peoples prices and see what you can do. If you do put an add somewhere you need to write obo and see what they offer. good luck

Go along with Kenmore. I think it is reasonable but if people can buy a washer & dryer on sale for $600, you need to reduce the price.

500 -600 for the pair seems reasonable. but prices only reflect what the market will bear.
if you need to sell them quickly you might have to lower the price until someone thinks it's a great deal.

I always look in your local paper classifieds and also craigslist.org for current selling values... I used ebay for stuff that is easier to ship or very unique. Brand name is probably the most important in reselling stuff. Good luck.
