My dad and I have not been getting along and have been at each other's throats sadly. He and I had a huge fight last night, on thanksgiving. My mom agrees with me on how he's acting alot of the time, they are married and he won't listen to her when it comes to what's going on between him and I. He tunes me out most of the time I'm talking to him. I still love him, but I don't feel that coming from him. Are there any songs that could be about this?

billy currington walk a little straighter
i dont know if this helps but its message is clear.

I remember looking up
To look up to him
And I remember most the time
He wasn’t there
I’d be waiting at the door
When he got home at night
He’d pass me by to go to pass out in his chair

And I’d say
Walk a little straighter daddy
You’re swaying side to side
You’re footsteps make me dizzy
And no matter how I try
I keep tripping and stumbling
If you’d look down here you’d see
Walk a little straighter daddy
You’re leading me

He stumbled in the gym
On graduation day
And I couldn’t help but feel
So ashamed
And I wasn’t surprised a bit
When he didn’t stay
He stumbled out before they called my name

And I thought
Walk a little straighter daddy
You’re swaying side to side
It’s not just me who’s watching
you’ve caught everybody’s eye
And you’re tripping and stumbling
and even though I’ve turned 18
Walk a little straighter daddy
You’re still leading me

The old mans still like he always was
But I love him anyway
If I’ve learned one thing from him
Its my kids will never have to say

Walk a little straighter daddy
You’re swaying side to side
You’re footsteps make me dizzy
And no matter how I try
I keep tripping and stumbling
if you’d look down here you’d see
Walk a little straighter daddy
You’re leading me

Yeah walk a little straighter daddy
You’re leading me

Oh Father_ by Madonna.

It's funny that way, you can get used
To the tears and the pain
What a child will believe
You never loved me

Chorus:

You can't hurt me now
I got away from you, I never thought I would
You can't make me cry, you once had the power
I never felt so good about myself

Seems like yesterday
I lay down next to your boots and I prayed
For your anger to end
Oh Father I have sinned

(chorus)

Oh Father you never wanted to live that way
You never wanted to hurt me
Why am I running away
(repeat)

Maybe someday
When I look back I'll be able to say
You didn't mean to be cruel
Somebody hurt you too

(chorus)

I COMPLETELY understand the weird father/daughter thing. Wonderful Tonight was a great suggestion. Another good choice might be "Stardust". There are several versions from different singers, but at my wedding my stepfather and I danced to the Willie Nelson one. It was appropriate, and I love Willie's voice. Also, do you have brown eyes? : ) Van Morrisson's "Brown-Eyed Girl" would be cute. You could also check out some songs by David Grey, Ellis Paul, Ray Lamontagne, Corey Smith. Beautiful voices and melodies that could work nicely as a father/daughter song. Good luck, and congratulations on your wedding!

Misha, I don't think a song is going to help the situation.
Why are you two fighting?
Maybe he is having financial problems or health issues.
I would back off from him for a while, obviously something is bothering him. Give him space. I'm sure things will settle down between you two.

One of the most common questions spouses ask when confronting a marriage crisis is this: How can I save my marriage if my partner doesn't want to help find a solution? How do I succeed I am trying to save my marriage on my own? Learn here https://tr.im/savemarriage

It is a typical enough story: one partner leaves, the other stays. One remains 'in love', the other is uncertain. Whatever it is that has caused a couple to be apart, the one person who remains bears the prospect, fear, doubt, desire, hope of saving his or her marriage' alone.

Daughters Lyrics
Artist(Band):John Mayer

I know a girl
She puts the color inside of my world
but she's just like a maze
Where all of the walls all continually change

And I've done all I can
To stand on her steps with my heart in my hand
Now I'm starting to see
Maybe it’s got nothing to do with me

Fathers, be good to your daughters
Daughters will love like you do
Girls become lovers who turn into mothers
So mothers, be good to your daughters too

Ooh, you see that skin?
It's the same she's been standing in
Since the day she saw him walking away
Now she's left
cleaning up the mess he made

So fathers, be good to your daughters
Daughters will love like you do
Girls become lovers who turn into mothers
So mothers, be good to your daughters too

Boys, you can break
You find out how much they can take
Boys will be strong
And boys soldier on
But boys would be gone without warmth from
A woman's good, good heart

On behalf of every man
looking out for every girl
You are the god and the weight of her world

So fathers, be good to your daughters
Daughters will love like you do
Girls become lovers who turn into mothers
So mothers be good to your daughters, too
So mothers be good to your daughters, too
So mothers be good to your daughters, too.
