Is this a new tradition? Son's new girlfriend (woman of the house) spent Thanksgiving preparing for BlackFriday shopping. Didn't have time to help cook, we couldn't set the table because she had all her ads and computer spread out, kids had to go to bed at 7:30 so she could go to bed. Was out partying night before and only got 3 hours sleep. My son watched the kids. Is this what this generation of adults do on Thanksgiving? Just wondering?

BlackFriday, it seems is a tradition for a lot of my friends, everyone was all hopped up about going into debt! No thanks for me, and it is really sad that that was that important to her. But if you're into positive thinking maybe you can expect a wonderful Christmas for your son and grandchildren.

No they shouldn't be doing this. My parents on Thanksgiving helped out. My family had a great Thanksgiving. We were all ready for Black Friday too by looking for adds and coupons but we did that when we were waiting for the turkey to be ready. Today my dad, my sister, and I went to Black Friday in the morning. We had a great time shopping for the Holidays. Your son and his girlfriend shouldn't be doing this on Thanksgiving. They should do it the day before or on the weekend before.

I do not think this is a new tradtion rather a tradiotion at all. I think she was very ignorant and inconsiderate. Thanksgiving is a time to spend with your family and the ones you love. Not to prepare for shopping. She needs to get her priorites straight!

sounds like your son picked a winner! you got to love people who choose ignoring there family and sleep deprivation for an extra 10 dollars saved. and no. most people have the sense and wherewithal to spend time with there family before they splurge on 4am sales.

Tell her to straighten up. Enjoy the family all day then get in line after all the festivities are over.

No, it's not what we do. She just has a problem and no feelings. And she also does not care about anything but her self. Good luck with that one
