show them that you are responsible, and will take care of it. make them an offer like if you mess up, it gets taken away.
i got mine when i was 13, and my parents totally trusted me, hopefully yours will do the same.

Instead of trying to 'convince' them, try to point out facts that can support your effort for wanting a cellphone. Point out the safety facts, how a cell phone can keep you safer since their is potential predators everywhere. A cell phone, if your not near a phone, can save your life when danger comes calling. No pun intended. Basically, try to use common logic to your advantage. This type of argument can also show your parents that you possess a sense of maturity. Good Luck :-D I hope it helps!

Try this on them,"Mom/Dad, please hear me out.I've really matured from that person I was *insert number* years ago, And I think I deserve a cell phone. Now that I'm older, I'll need it in case of an emergency in case I need to call you for some reason, and I won't have to borrow your cell phones anymore. All my friends have phones too.Your the best parents ever and you've raised me well so I promise I'll do anything you ask of me and work extra hard in school, I promise i won't overuse it.(If you have the money then add this too) *and I promise I'll pay you back. Please?

-Good Luck

well, stay out for a little longer than usuall.
do that about 5 times they will ask you why you stayed out for that long. then you make up a reason, ohh I tried to call you but since I dont have money or a cell phone I couldnt call you to tell that I had to do this etc...
it may take a little while but im pretty sure it will work out fine.
Parents never like to see their children in any trouble. Im not saying do something bad, Im saying stay out just to make them worry about you. when they tell you they were worried about you, that is when you tell them "it would be a good idea to get me a cell phone so that if I'm coming late home, I can call to notify you".
Try this...:-)

Learn the value of money first. When you do have a cell phone and you cant pay the (high) bills coming from over using it..your parents might want to pay for it.
Be sure you can afford one. Dont abuse it. There are other means of a qucik chat with your friends.

get enough money to get one. ask them if you can buy it, and if the say no, then take the answer. now here is the fn part...

you start hanging out a lot and your mom will want to be in touch with you. try to hang out with people who dont have phones either. so one of your parents will have to let you borrow theirs. soon they will get tired aof letting you bring theirs around, and so they will eventually get you one.

but the key to this is to not let your parents know your plan ask once so that they know what you want, then dont bother them anymore. just quietly do what it says above. thats how i got my first phone!

good luck... and oh yeah. settle for a really cheap phone at first, and not a lot of texting either. dont push your luck! best of luck to you!

Stop bothering them about it and maybe they'll see that you've matured. And by the way, why is it that you just expect your parents to start throwing away more money on you than they already do? If you really want a cellphone that badly, get a job and pay for it yourself.

ask them to buy you a prepaid and WATCH your minutes... then they may include you into their plan and now you can get a better phone... be happy with what ever they give you... in time you can prove you deserve a nicer one.
