...when a breakaway occurs, it is NOT the goalie's fault. The rest of the team screwed up to let that situation develop. And those were the only scores that Chicago got.

can't really blame kiprusoff. it's the responsibility of the 5 guys on the pp to not give the puck away. tough loss, but you'll rebound from it.

Kipper is going to die out there! Mike Keenan needs to rest the guy if Cargary is going to go anywhere. Kind of reminds me of how Billy Martin used to trot out the same five starting pitchers when he managed Oakland. These guys ate innings like none other, and in the end, it ruined each of their careers. Kipper is on that same path that Grant Fuhr was on when Keenan coached the Blues (if you remember, Fuhr played nearly every game in the 1995-96 season, only to suffer a knee injury and miss the playoffs. Fuhr was never the same afterward).

Maybe so, but Kipper has always been weak on breakaways. It's one of the reasons why the Flames shoot out record has never been all that great. He needs to improve that area of his game, for sure. Last night's game was ugly to watch. I'm starting to get worried about my boys in red.

Yeah, that was a frustrating game in a few ways - the breakaways, a couple of careless Flames penalties, and failure to cash in on some offensive chances.

If the Flames want to make a playoff push this season, they have to win games like that one. I know it doesn't seem like a big deal to drop a game in November, but losses like that kill over the long term.

Nothing to be made at Kipper, the Hawks barley tested him. 3rd. Period shots. Chi 2 Cal 13. And one of the Chi shots was a goal. Giving up 2 goals a game is not bad considering. The Flames really have to blame their lack of offense. Heck they have some really good players.
