Can we choose neither? Both would make someone feel pretty badly inside - if they had any heart at all. I know that on the rare occasion I lose my temper and have said something mean spirited I felt as bad as the person I said it to.
It's been quite awhile since someone did that to me, thankfully, but when it does occur I try and tell myself that they feel badly about themselves so the only way they can even slightly feel better is to put someone else down. That way I feel more sorry for the person who had to stoop to that level ... than I do for whatever they've said about me.
And mostly I feel glad I am not them ...

Neither, if someone insults me I'm likely going to insult them back since lately I've been in a bad mood.
If I insult someone than they're going to insult me...it's a lose lose situation.

I do not like insulting someone, yet I don't like to be insulted too. I would rather stay silent and pretend of not having seen or heard something that hurts me

I'd rather be insulted. Then I can reasonably insult them back or otherwise make them feel bad, and be perfectly justified about doing it.

I would rather be insulted. I can shrug that off and I have control whether I choose to forgive or not (I always choose to forgive). But if I offend someone, the control of forgiveness is with them.

It really depends but otherwise id otn like to insult anyone thats just rude and mean and i cant see people in pain but if the other person is tryna start something with me then id otn mind insulting them
