So far, I've given up Starbucks... nail salons (no more mani/pedi..:( ...and the occasional facial to save money and be able to pay my heating bill. I'm also REALLY staying away from Macys! (I love that store, but not this year, my utility bills are getting all my cash.)

What have you taken out of the spending to save some coin?

shopping at the most expensive grocery stores, amount of unnecessary foods (doritoes, soda, etc), clothes was a big one.. I try to just go to sale places.. And 4 ex. I buy asics now instead of Nikes and that alone I save $50.. I drive less, have a cheaper car payment.. Now I know your asking for specifics, and when I started being frugal that's what I did- ask for specifics. But the Truth is that the best way to save money is to ask yourself, Every Time your about to spend, ask yourself 'do I want this, or do I need it?' . . With many things you don't have to go without, you just have to think ahead. Instead of buying a $2 soda at Mcdonalds, you could've bought a 12 pack of soda for 30 cents a soda.

A further evolution of frugality, is to ask yourself 'will I be any happier next year/five years from now, if I buy this now?'

I have saved so much on pizza alone - I used to drop 40+ a week on getting 3 pizzas.. now I buy digiorno's, and buy 6 for the same price.

You can keep a lot of the same items and still save money. Just buy the off-brand equivalent. Many companies produce products identical to their name brand twin, but package them in store-brand packaging. Store brands don't typically carry the cost of advertising associated with name brands, and they are stereotyped as being of a lower quality, so they're cheaper. The product can be exactly the same! This holds especially true for pharmaceuticals, they HAVE to have the same ingredients to be safe and effective. It sounds like you live in the city, but if you don't you could also try to consolidate your driving trips. Also, if you own a car, call your insurance agent to see if you are eligible for any additional discounts. One thing I also do is withdraw a budgeted amount of money for food and entertainment. DO NOT use your debit card for these things. Having a pre-specified amount of cash on hand means you can get a visual idea of how much of your budget you have left. Debit cards can let your spending get out of budget without realizing it. Good luck!

My teenagers are the two on their very own, suffering to artwork out a funds. the guy who's doing nice with it spends lots under $10 an afternoon on nutrition, including beer and wine. She not often eats out. She additionally would not spend something like $2 hundred a month on entertainment. basically you are able to understand what's properly worth spending your disposable income on and what isn't, yet as quickly as I have been on your place, i might funds my nutrition funds, including the two groceries and ingesting out, on a in keeping with-week foundation, and spend a minimum of $seventy 5 much less in keeping with month on entertainment. case in point, going to a action picture is freakin' high priced. Renting movies, or getting them from the library, no longer lots. eating in a bar, high priced. procuring a bottle or six-%. and beautiful acquaintances over, much less costly. Your judgements would desire to be diverse, of direction.

Stopped going to Dunkin' Donuts, shut off my house phone and just kept the cell. I do pedicures myself. I clip coupons and only use them when the product is on sale. YOu get the sale price, plus the double coupon...big savings. I check discounts from AAA...I get 15% off of clothes.
