Well, if I was a toucan on my own, the cost would not be the problem, but loneliness. What a shame, get him/her a mate to share with and get greater variety of food to enjoy. Throw a moving in party for the new toucan and ask the neighbours round to celebtrate, as they may have to suffer lots of screeches and chirping as these birds get to know each other!!!!!
