y³ (y³ - y) = 27 x 24 = 648

do you mean y to the 3rd power?! if so I'll explain...
3*3*3(3*3*3 - 3)= (take 3^3(3^3-3))
27(27-3)=
27(24)=
648

**note: 3^3 means 3 to the third power**

if you mean 3y(3y-3)=?
here's how it's done...
3*3(3*3-3)=
9(9-3)=
9(6)=
54

3x3(3x3)-3)=
9(9-3)=
9(6)=
9x6=54
